Virtual Reality in Medicine and Surgery (VRiMS) | Virtual Reality in Medicine and Surgery (VRiMS) aims to bring efficiency to medical and surgical education and equity to learning. Their emphasis is pedagogy, scientific evaluation and global health perspectives. They possess the largest immersive surgical training resource in the world with full hardware and software capabilities including VR anatomy, 360VR of cadaveric surgical procedures for every surgical specialty, interactive 360VR, synchronised VR and mixed reality headsets (https://www.vrims.net) Workshops are typically an hour in duration and follow this format: • 20 minutes watching a lecture related to VR surgical procedure in order to gain an understanding of the procedure • 20 minutes watching the surgical procedure in virtual reality via VRiMS VR headsets • 20 minutes viewing and exploring surgical anatomy related to the surgical procedure in virtual reality via VRiMS VR headsets |
Intro to Machine Learning in Medicine | Student-led workshop in collaboration with Prof Raj Jena (UK’s 1st professor of AI in Radiotherapy) giving students an understanding and flavour of ML in healthcare. The workshop will consist of 3 parts: • Learn about the basis of Artificial Intelligence technologies and how they can be implemented in clinical scenarios. • A hands-on workshop, where you will get to design and evaluate your own ML algorithm. The group will be split into Team Human and Team AI - both teams competing on the same task. The groups will then swap over to ensure everyone gets a taste of both sides. • How can you, as clinicians, become a part of the healthcare revolution? Learn from the UK’s first clinical professor of AI, how you can up-skill and prepare for the future of healthcare. |
EpiCardio – 3D interactive ECG workshop | Epicardio is at the forefront of cardiac education, transforming learning with real-time 3D interactive e-learning. Workshops are designed to help participants master the intricacies of the heart through comprehensive ECG, Pacing, and Cardiac EP tutorials, all facilitated by their intelligent virtual heart. Delegates will be provided with personal logins to access the online interface via personal laptops they should bring on the day. With a steadfast commitment to innovative and engaging learning experiences, Epicardio equips healthcare professionals with cutting-edge tools to enhance their understanding and skills in cardiac care. |
UltraLearn Point of Care Ultrasound Workshop | The UltraLearn Project is a student-led, clinician-supervised, initiative focused on facilitating the learning of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) to UK medical students. In this workshop, students will be given an opportunity to use POCUS to reinforce anatomy and physiology knowledge, using a combination of AI-assisted scanners and gamified exercises. Under clinician supervision, students will also take part in simulated cases where POCUS will be used alongside a wider examination to reach diagnoses. This workshop promises to be a fun yet productive time, leaving students with the confidence needed to pick up an ultrasound probe and scan. X/LinkedIn/Instagram: @ultralearnpocus |
3D Planning for Airway Modelling | Interactive workshop aiming to demonstrate the various 3D modelling techniques used to model Airways for 3D surgical planning. Delegates will be able to interact with 3D printed models and visualise virtual endoscopy through the use of VR headsets to then simulate and understand how surgery can be planned. This workshop will be run by ENT Consultant and Airway specialist Mr Chaitanya Gadepalli. https://www.linkedin.com/in/chaitanya-gadepalli-b77a3863/?originalSubdomain=uk
